Villanova will play its final game before the holiday break on Tuesday afternoon when the Wildcats travel to Philadelphia to take on the La Salle Explorers. Villanova enters play 5-5 overall and 2-1 in Philadelphia Big 5 play, while La Salle is 7-4 overall and 1-0 in City Series action. Tip-off at Tom Gola Arena is set for 1 p.m.

Tuesday's game at La Salle will be Villanova's first action in 10 days. After defeating Oregon State on Dec. 11, the Wildcats were off for 10 days due to final exams. Following the La Salle game, Villanova will be off for another 10 days for the holiday break.  Â

The Wildcats enter play against La Salle with an all-time Big Five record of 124-41 (.751). The 124 wins are the most victories by any Big Five women's program. Saint Joseph's is second with
112 Big Five wins. Villanova is 35-7 (.833) in its last 42 games versus Philadelphia Big Five competition.

Tuesday's game at La Salle will be the final non conference game of the season for Villanova. Starting on Dec. 31 versus Seton Hall, Villanova will play 18 straight BIG EAST Conference games to end the season. Â

After missing six games due to injury, junior forward
Maddy Siegrist returned to the court in fine fashion in her first two games back. After tallying a double-double of 36 points and 17 rebounds at James Madison, she had 28 points and nine rebounds versus No. 23 Oregon State. In the two games combined, she had 64 points and 26 rebounds and she shot 22-of-48 from the field (.458), 4-of-10 from three-point range (.400) and 16-of-22 from the foul line (.727).

For her efforts in the two wins over James Madison and Oregon State when she averaged 32.0 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per contest, Siegrist was named the USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale Women's National Player of the Week.

Sophomore forward
Lior Garzon has emerged as a consistent double digit scorer for the Wildcats. Entering play versus La Salle on Tuesday afternoon, Garzon is Villanova's second leading scorer at 14.4 points per game. She also leads the Wildcats in three-point field goals made with 23. She has had eight double figure scoring contests in the first 10 games of the year, including three contests of 20 points or more.
