Philadelphia, Pa- The Villanova Wildcats went to overtime against the Drexel Dragons on Thursday afternoon but fell 1-0 in the 98
th minute.
The goal was set up by Lauren Currey who crossed the ball right in front of the goal and Anna Salvucci was able to tap it in for the golden goal.
Megan McClay got the start in goal for the Wildcats and finished with career high eight saves, with four of those coming in the second half.
Chloe O'Neill finished with a team high three shots, she placed two of those on goal. Her final on goal shot coming in the closing minutes of the second half where she ripped a shot at the Drexel keeper but Miyuki Schoyen was able to make the save.
The Wildcats had another strong scoring chance in the 58
th minute when
Emma Weaver kicked in a corner kick that
Lauren Ashman was able to head but was saved.
Villanova will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they host the Saint Joseph's Hawks. Kickoff at Higgins Soccer Complex is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
