Villanova, Pa.- Two second half goals by the Georgetown Hoyas carried them to a 2-0 victory over Villanova at Higgins Soccer Complex on a warm March afternoon.
Villanova's
Megan McClay had four saves in the first half to keep the Hoya's scoreless. The Wildcats shot on goal on the first half came from
Lauren Ashman.Â
The Hoya's got on the board in the 58
th minutes when Gia Vicari took the ball along the end line and then got it into the box where Daisy Cleverley was able to get a cross shot to find the back of the goal. Georgetown netted their second in the 81
st minute when Jenna Menta was able to take the ball from midfield all the way to the end line and pass it Vicari who was one on one with the keeper and scored.
Villanova had two strong chances in the second half offensively, both
Sam Rosette and
Bri Austin got shots on goal but were saved by Lauren Gallagher, who also got the win for the Hoyas.Â
The Wildcats will head to Providence to take on the Friars on Sunday. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
