Baltimore, Md.- The Villanova Wildcats picked up their fourth win of the season on Saturday when the defeated Loyola 183-112. Junior's
Nicole Welch and
Kelly Montesi each won three individual events for the Wildcats. Also, the Wildcats showed their depth going 1-2-3-4 in the 1000 yard freestyle and finished 1-2-3 in the 50, 100, and 200 yard freestyle.
Welch came in first in the 200, 500, and 1000 yard freestyle and Montesi won the 100 and 200 yard butterfly and the 200 yard IM.
Welch won the 1000 yard freestyle in 10:30.57,
Emily Provenzo,
Brenna McLaughlin, and
Andrea Fong all finished after in the respective order. Welch finished with a time of 1:52.94 in the 200 yard freestyle and
Abbey Berloco finished second and Millicent Routledge come in third. Berloco came in first the 50 and 100 yard freestyle with Routledge coming in second and
Lexi Elkovitch coming in third in both events.
The Villanova Wildcats started off the day by winning the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:53.92, the relay team was made up of
Audrey Pastorek,
Rayann Jaryszak, Monesi and
Perri Stahl.
In the 1-meter and 3-metter dives the Wildcats took the top three spots with
Danielle Scarano coming in first followed by
Andrea Holtz and Abby Mastrantoni in the three meter. In the 1 meter dive Matsrantoni came in first followed by Holtz and Scarano.
