Senglaub and Wade join Swimming and Diving Coaching Staff Prior to 2026-27 Season

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova Swimming and Diving Head Coach Rick Simpson welcomes two new additions to his coaching staff for the for the 2026-27 season. Katie Senglaub and George Wade both join the staff as assistant coaches.
 
Senglaub officially joins the staff after serving as a volunteer assistant for Villanova last year. She assisted with daily coaching activities such as practice planning and athlete development, as well as recruiting efforts and travel coordination. Prior to the Main Line Senglaub got her start to coaching as an Assistant Senior/Senior Prep Coach for the Victor Swim Coach in her hometown of Victor, N.Y. She also has experience coaching at various university swim camps, such as Navy, Virginia, and Villanova. Before she made the leap to coaching, she competed as a varsity swimmer for Colgate University.
 
Wade makes the short trip to the Main Line from La Salle University, where he served as the Assistant Swim Coach and Men's Recruiting Coordinator for the Explorers. He oversaw the breaststroke and individual medley groups, as well as coordinated recruiting for perspective athletes. Wade was a part of Kerry Smith's staff when she was named the A10 Men's Coach of the year and helped coach both the male and female athletes of the meet at the 2026 A10 Championships. He got his start in coaching at the Wissahickon Community Aquatic Club in Ambler, Pa., where he served as a swim coach from 2021-2025. During that time he competed at Arcadia University. He was a five-year member of the swimming and diving team, where he was a three-time individual MAC champion, team record holder in five events, on the MAC conference honor roll three times, and an Academic All-MAC selection.
