NEW YORK—Freshman forward Meghan Mitchell (Villanova, Pa.) was named to the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll in an announcement made by the conference office on Tuesday morning. It is the weekly honor of the season for Mitchell, who was previously the Offensive Player of the Week on March 15. The first-year standout for the Wildcats is leading the team in goals and points through the first 10 games of her collegiate career.
 
Mitchell scored three goals and had one assist for a total of seven points in two games last week. She accounted for both Villanova tallies in a 3-2 loss to Drexel on Saturday, then contributed a goal and an assist in Monday's 4-1 win versus La Salle. Mitchell took eight shots and placed all of them on target in the two games, including a season-high five shots on goal in the Drexel contest. She has scored on eight of her 22 shots this season.
 
In the win over La Salle, Mitchell scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal less than a minute into the start of the second quarter. She also assisted on the final goal of the game in the 45^th minute. Her performance on Monday extended her season totals to eight goals, two assists and 18 points.
 
Villanova returns to action this week with Saturday and Sunday home games against Connecticut.
