Villanova, Pa.- The Villanova Wildcats fell to the North Carolina Tar Heels by a final of 1-0 on Thursday afternoon.
The Tar Heels goal came in the opening seconds of the second half when Isabel Cox placed a ball off the end line right into the center of the box where Brianna Pinto was able to tap in to and score.
Megan McClay just over 88 minutes in goal for the Wildcats and finished with five saves on the day. Her first coming in the in the 15th minute, followed by back-to-back saves in the 20
th and 21
st minute. She kept the Tar Heals scoreless in the first half.
Maria Thomas entered into goal in the opening minutes of the second half and had one save before exiting the game.
Villanova's best offensive chance came when
Bri Austin took a shot that went high in the 58
th minute.
The Wildcats will host the Providence Friars next on Monday, April 5
th for Senior Day. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
