RICHMOND, Va. – Villanova has been named a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team for the Fall 2021 semester, as announced on Monday evening. Both the men's and women's teams were recognized, marking the 13th consecutive semester that both teams earned the laurel.
Greg Earhart, CSCAA Executive Director highlighted Villanova's achievements noting, "Coach Simpson continues to build a team the university can be proud of. These 42 men and women are some of the best ambassadors that Villanova and the Big East could ask for."
The CSCAA selected 728 teams from 450 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2021 semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Fall 2021 grade point averages and represent 18,029 student-athletes. Of these teams 519 earned a GPA of 3.30 or above making them eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.
Villanova men's and women's teams posted GPAs of 3.6 and 3.56 respectively to earn the honors.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
