Providence, R.I.- The Villanova Wildcats wrapped up the 2022 season with a 1-1 draw at Providence on Thursday evening.
Providence scored their goal in the opening minute. Meg Hughes found Kyla Gallagher just 30 seconds in to put the Friars up 1-0. In the opening half Providence took 12 shots and placed five on goal while the Wildcats took two and placed one on frame.
Sophia Kryza took the shot on goal in the opening 45 for Villanova and it was saved by Emma Bodmer in the top left corner of the goal.
Izzy Newton opened the second half with a shot on goal to get the Wildcats offense going. In the second half Villanova took five shot to finish with seven in the game. In the 74

Megan McClay played the first 71 minutes in goal and had six saves and
Payton Woodward finished the game between the posts for Villanova. Woodward saved the three strong shots on goal the Friars took in the final 15 minutes to make the final 1-1.
Villanova finishes the season 4-8-4 overall and 3-5-2 in BIG EAST action while the Friars concluded 4-9-5 and 2-4-4 in league play.
