Villanova Falls to Creighton 2-0 on Sunday Afternoon

Omaha, Neb.- A goal in both halves by the Creighton Bluejays carried them to a 2-0 victory over Villanova on Sunday afternoon.

Villanova's Megan McClay had six saves, she registered three in each half.  Olivia Packer took the Wildcats lone shot in the first half in the 40th minute.

In the 14th minute the Bluejays got on the board.  The play started with a corner that led to a shot by Jordy Rothwell that was blocked and bounced to Azumi Manriki who was alone at the top corner of the box. Manriki sent a shot to the top right corner to make it 1-0.  Creighton's second goal came in the 60th minute when Hannah Luke fed the ball into the box and found Lara Kazandjian, who used her left foot to net the second goal.

Villanova had a strong chance in the second half offensively, Makayla Stadler got a shot on goal that was saved by Lisa Hall, who got the win in goal for the Bluejays.

The Wildcats will return home to host the Georgetown Hoyas on Thursday.  Kickoff at Higgins Soccer Complex is scheduled for 3:00 P.M.
