New York, N.Y. – Junior back Sabine de Ruijter was named to the Weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll after a great performance to end the season. This is her second time this season to receive weekly conference honors.
 
De Ruijter played a key role on defense with the back line to keep the Hoyas to a scoring minimum of one goal. She also made a great contribution on the other side of the field scoring a goal in the 5-1 win over Georgetown in their BIG EAST matchup on Friday October 28.
 
The native of the Netherlands netted her final seventh goal of off a penalty corner with just over three minutes left in the game. She was assisted by fellow Wildcats, Makenna Maguire who served the ball into play and Caitlin Van Goeverden who stopped the ball for de Ruijter as she sent a laser past the goalkeeper for the Villanova's fifth goal of the contest.
 
An exciting win for the Wildcats to conclude their 2022 season on a wonderful high note.
