New York, N.Y.- The Villanova Wildcats had two named to the All-BIG EAST Teams as announced by the conference office Thursday morning.  Junior back Sabine de Ruijter and junior forward Meghan Mitchell both earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors.

De Ruijter has had a very impressive season on both ends of the field. She has played and started in all 17 games of the season at back. The junior has scored seven goals, had five assists, two game winners, 0.475 shots on goal percentage, and has racked up 19 points. On the defensive side, she has played exceptional defense and has been a crucial member of the Wildcats back line, tied for first with three defensive saves on the season.

Mitchell has also performed well joining her teammate in starting all 17 games of the season at forward. She was the team's leading scorer with nine goals on the year with four assists, two game winners, 0.731 shots on goal percentage, and earned a whopping 22 points. The captain showed her leadership on and off the field with a season high of two goals against La Salle on Sept. 25.
 
This season marked the best record the Wildcats have had since 2018 ending the year with a quality 11-6 record going 3-4 in conference play. Both Mitchell and de Ruijter were huge contributing factors to Villanova's success this year.
