Campbell Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

Washington, D.C.-  The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced the 2022 Tewaaraton Award men's and women's Watch Lists. The lists include the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlight the early contenders for the 2022 Tewaaraton Award.

Villanova senior Matt Campbell has been named to the Watch List just days before the Wildcats open the 2022 season.  Last season the midfielder led Villanova in scoring netting 32 goals, he also dished out eight assists for 40 points.  Campbell has been named to Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-American teams last month as well as to the All-BIG EAST Preseason team.

"This is going to be such an exciting lacrosse season, and we're happy to be recognizing these talented student-athletes," said Jeffrey Harvey, chair of the Tewaaraton Foundation. "We wish everyone the best of luck as the spring gets underway."

The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
