CLEMSON, S.C.—Junior hurdler Jane Livingston (Lancaster, Pa.) lowered her personal best in the 60 meter hurdles in consecutive races at the Tiger Paw Invite on Friday afternoon. Livingston advanced out of the qualifying round and competed in the semifinal heats against strong competition at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex in her latest strong effort of the season. She has improved her lifetime PR on three separate occasions this season.
 
In the preliminary heats of the hurdles on Friday the top two finishers in each heat and the next 10 fastest times moved on to the semifinals about two hours later. Livingston ran in the third heat out of seven and finished second with a time of 8.27 to automatically qualify for the next round. The time eclipsed her mark of 8.32 which she had recorded at the Villanova Invitational last month. Livingston ranks fourth on the Wildcats all-time performance list in the hurdles.
 
Later on Friday afternoon Livingston lowered her personal best by another two-hundredths of a second when she crossed the finish line in 8.25 in her semifinal heat. She came in third in her heat and was inside the bubble to qualify for the final before the succeeding heats produced faster on-time qualifiers. Livingston extended her hold on the BIG EAST lead in the hurdles this season. She began the day with a gap of 0.15 seconds over the next-fastest runner in the conference to this point in the year.
 
Two events remain on the Villanova schedule at the Tiger Paw Invite. On Saturday morning senior women's high jump Sanaa Barnes (Keller, Texas) will open up for the first time this season, while men's senior triple jumper Malik Cunningham (St. Andrew, Jamaica) will also be in action. Both events begin at 11 a.m. and can be seen on ACCNX.
