This will only be the third meeting in history between the two schools, with George Washington holding a 2-0 edge. Their last matchup came in 2012, when the 'Cats fell in Washington, D.C. by a final score of 11-7.
Entering their fourth contest of the season, Villanova is coming off a 14-9 loss to Cornell. In the contest,
Addie Fischer scored a team high three goals, totaling seven for the season. Coming into her junior season, the Glen Arm, Maryland native had scored five goals in the past two seasons. Fischer and senior
Alexa Tsahalis (6g, 1a) pace the Villanova offense with seven points a piece, while fellow senior

Caroline Curnal currently has the sixth most draw controls per game in the country at 9.33. The senior midfielder leads the Wildcats with 28 through three games.
George Washington dropped its season opener at Navy on Saturday, 16-3. The Colonials are coming off a 6-6 season in 2021, going 3-4 in the Atlantic 10. The team is led by top returning offensive threat Sophia Watkinson, who scored 19 goals in her first season as a transfer. Senior goalkeeper Megan Patrick returns in goal after starting all 12 games last season.
After their second consecutive home contest, Villanova will set out on a five-game road trip, beginning next Wednesday, March 2 at Saint Joesph's.
