Maddy Siegrist Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

The Junior Averaged 33.0 Points Per Game In Two Wins

NEW YORK -- The BIG EAST Conference today announced its weekly award winners and Villanova junior forward Maddy Siegrist (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) was named the league's player of the week. In two wins over St. John's and Georgetown, Siegrist averaged 33.0 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per contest, while shooting .675 from the field.
 
Her best scoring effort of the week came at St. John's on Friday, Feb. 4, when she tallied 34 points on 15-of-22 shooting.  In Sunday's win over Georgetown, Siegrist tallied 32 points to go with 14 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and an assist.
 
In 15 games this year, Siegrist is averaging 25.7 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per contest. She has had 11 games of 20 points or more this season and six games of 30 points or more. She has also posted six double-doubles on the year.
 
Siegrist and the Wildcats return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 9, when the Wildcats travel to Connecticut. Tip-off at the XL Center is set for 7 p.m.
