With the bulk of its roster returning intact from an historic 2021 fall season, the Villanova Wildcats have begun preparations for the 2022 regular season.
Villanova will play four spring games in March and April.
The Wildcats are looking to build on the momentum of a 2021 fall campaign that included the program's second ever NCAA Tournament at-large bid and its first NCAA Tournament victory, a 1-0 triumph over the University of Vermont in Burlington, Va.
A collection of seasoned veterans, including leading scorer
Lyam MacKinnon, back
Viktor Benediktsson and midfielders
Josh Belluz and
Dominic Cyriacks are expected to anchor a 2022 edition that hopes to add more to its list of accomplishments.
The spring schedule shapes up this way:
Saturday, March 19 vs. the University of Delaware
Kickoff: noon at the Higgins Soccer Complex
Saturday, March 26 vs. Rutgers
Kickoff; 1 p.m. at the Higgins Soccer Complex
Saturday, April 2 vs. Binghamton University
Kickoff: 1 p.m. at Salesianum High School, Wilmington, Del.
Saturday, April 9 vs. Villanova Soccer Alumni
Kickoff: 1 p.m. at the Higgins Soccer Complex
