Chris Rotondo tallied nine RBI throughout a winning weekend at Richmond with two home runs to land a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
The Reading, Conn.-native picks up the fourth Honor Roll selection for the Wildcats this season. His honor is the fourth of his career and the first in this campaign.
Rotondo was 5-for-12 at Richmond to extend his hitting streak to 19 consecutive games. That mark matches the longest hitting streak by a Wildcat since Jeremy Hunt recorded a hit in 19 straight games back in 2006. Aside from those hits, Rotondo also reached base on five walks and was plunked once, allowing him to reach base in 49 consecutive games. He accounted for five of his nine RBI in the series finale alone.
He leads the team with a .377 batting average that is fourth in the conference and a .775 slugging percentage that is fifth while also holding a team-highs with 25 runs scored, 29 hits and 21 RBI. He has blasted six moon shots on the year and has collected 52 total bases with nine steals and 14 walks. He currently leads the BIG EAST with 1.25 runs per game, a mark that sits him at 48
th nationally.
