The Villanova women's lacrosse team will face the Georgetown Hoyas Saturday afternoon for their first BIG EAST conference game of the season. After a midweek loss to No. 8 Maryland, the Hoyas enter at 5-6, while the Wildcats sit at 4-7, last playing one weekend ago.
Villanova has faced Georgetown 22 times prior to this meeting, with the all-time series favoring the Hoyas, who have won 19 of those games. Georgetown swept the 'Cats in their weekend series during the 2021 season.

For the visiting Hoyas, they will look to get back in the win column, after back to back losses. Leading the team in scoring are a duo of seniors in Ali Diamond and Annabelle Albert. Both have totaled 18 goals apiece through 11 games, while Diamond has nine assists on the season to lead the team. Graduate student defender LizaBanks Campanga will look to slow down Villanova's draw dominance, recording 77 draw controls to this point. On defense, Melissa Massimino leads Georgetown with 22 caused turnovers.
Georgetown ranks second in the conference in shots (33.7) and shots on goal (24,2) per game.
