Villanova, Pa.- Villanova women's lacrosse this season was the second top fundraising team in the country raising over $10,000 for HEADstrong Foundation while freshman
Amelia Ricciuti was the top individual fundraiser.

Jill Batcheller. "This is a cause especially close to our hearts. The organization supported one of our former Wildcats when she was diagnosed with cancer while at Villanova. I would like to thank everyone who donated and attended our Headstrong game this spring!"
The Wildcats along with the other Philadelphia's Six NCAA Division I women's programs - Drexel University, LaSalle University, Saint Joseph's University, Temple University, and University of Pennsylvania took the field for their home openers with some incredible game day hairstyles on behalf of families overcome by cancer as part of the "No Place Like Home Initiative" supporting the HEADstrong Foundation.
This season, teams actively participated in Game Hair Havoc, a fundraising campaign powered by the HEADstrong Foundation in which college teams used game day hairstyles as a mechanism for raising awareness and funds to support the cause. From battle braids to power buns, each of the players of the Philly Six showed their spirit and support for those who have lost their hair due to the side effects of their cancer treatment. This year, more than 4,500 Stylers & Supporters representing 110 College teams took to the field using hair to make a difference for those in the fight of their lives. Together we successfully raised more than $170,000 to help families overcome by cancer. Furthermore, the statement of solidarity and unity on field inspired thousands navigating the emotional, psychological, physical and financial stress associated with their battles.
