ANNAPOLIS, Md.- The Wildcats won their first match against Morgan State on the road in a strong 5-2 victory.
The match began with all of the Wildcats doubles pairs falling to Morgan States teams. Morgan State claimed the first team point of the match.

Starting off at number one singles was junior
Emma Brogan who took on Morgan States Averiana Mitchell taking a 3-6, 6-3, 0-6 win in the third set.

Freshman
Maggie Gehrig took on the Bear's Asmara Rose at the two spot and fought hard winning the first set 5-7 and was in the lead in the second set 6-7 when Villanova claimed the team win.

Emi Callahan went up against Anabel Aran in the three-spot claiming a swift 6-1, 6-3 victory over the Morgan State.

The Ukraine native,
Valieriia Kornieva was given a challenge against Lauryn Hall in their head-to-head winning the first set 6-4 losing the second 7-5 and Hall lead the third set 1-0 when the match was called.

Bella Steffen was no match for Stefania Moysiadi taking a strong 6-3, 6-4 win.

Senior captain
Caitlin Fisher battled against Morgan State's Benson losing the first set 6-4 but coming back to claim the second set 7-5 and third set 6-3 to clutch Villanova's team victory.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday February 4 to take on NJIT at 1 pm.
