CLEMSON, S.C.—Junior high jumper
Roschell Clayton (Montego Bay, Jamaica) cleared the bar at a height of 1.69 meters to finish in 12
th place at the Tiger Paw Invite on Saturday morning. Villanova had three athletes competing over two days at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex which culminated with one women's and one men's field event Saturday.
Clayton came into the competition with the bar at 1.64 meters and quickly recorded a successful jump on her first attempt of the day. She missed on two tries at a height of 1.69 meters but made it over on her third jump to advance when the bar was raised to 1.74 meters. There were 13 athletes remaining from an initial field of 41 competitors at that point and Clayton was eliminated after three jumps at 1.74 meters.
It was the second competition of the season for Clayton, who opened up at Penn State on January 28 and recorded a jump at 1.71 meters in her season debut.

Malik Cunningham (St. Andrew, Jamaica) were all in action at Clemson this weekend. The lone remaining competition for the Wildats before the BIG EAST Championships in two weeks is a men's meet at Notre Dame next Saturday.
