It's About Time: This will be the fifth meeting all-time against Towson (2-3) with the Tigers holding a 3-2 lead in the series. The last meeting between the 'Cats and the Tigers was 1983 where Villanova took a 15-6 loss adding to Towson's now three-game winning streak. Three of the previous five games have been played at Towson. Villanova is 66-53-2 all-time in the state of Maryland.

Tailing the Tigers
- Towson enters the midweek matchup with a 1-6 record after competing with Upstate, Southern Illinois, and heading to the Wake Forest Tournament which included Mount St. Mary's (Md.), Wake Forest, and Binghamton. The Tigers nabbed their only win over Binghamton in a 10-1 blowout.
- Outfielder Elijah Dickerson was tabbed as a Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention entering 2023. In his junior year, Dickerson was recognized as an All-CAA Honorable Mention at the end of the season and hit .262 with 10 doubles, five triples, 10 homers, and 42 runs batted in. In his first six games this season, Dickerson has one hit, one double, and one RBI.
- Catcher John Cristino leads the Tigers this season slugging .615 with seven hits, four runs, three home runs, one stolen base, and has driven in five runs. James Moses is a player to watch for Towson with five hits, four runs, one double, two RBI.
- Brett Seils takes the hill for the Tigers for Wednesday's matchup. In his first appearance out of the bullpen he pitched for 2.1 innings striking out one and allowing four runs. In his first start this season, Seils tossed three innings with one strikeout allowing three hit and one run.
