MANCHESTER, Pa.- The Wildcats made their way to Connecticut to take on UConn and took a tough 4-1 loss played to the clinch.
 
The match began with UConn taking No. 2 and 3 doubles over Villanova. The freshman pair of Emi Callahan and Maggie Gehrig's match was left unfinished with the team in the lead 5-4 before the Huskies claimed the first team point.
 
The best effort of the day came from Callahan who was the lone victor for the Wildcats taking a 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 win over Isabel Petri-Bere. UConn took No. 1, 2, and 3 singles to end the match taking the 4-1 victory.
 
The Wildcats return to Villanova, Pa. to take on Hampton for their home opener. Match time is set for 12:00 pm.
