Hansen Named to PhillySIDA Academic All-Area At-Large Team

PHILADELPHIA – For the first time since the 2016-17 season, Villanova Water Polo finds itself represented on the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area List. Allie Hansen earned a spot on the At-Large team thanks to her work in the pool and in the classroom.

Hansen joins Dominique Clark as the program's only honorees. The senior attacker is majoring in mechanical engineering while maintaining a 3.72 GPA. She has made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll numerous times in her career while also being a three-time member of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll and ACWPC All-Academic Team and a two-time honoree on the MAAC All-Academic Team.

She is one of 14 student-athletes to be named to the At-Large team. Voting is done by the sports information offices of 30 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

This season, the Friendswood, Texas native leads the team with 46 assists which currently sits as the eighth most in a single season in program history. She has scored 42 goals on 99 shots while netting the third most points among the Wildcats with 88. She has gone 37-18 in sprints.

In four seasons, Hansen has been credited with 114 assists, placing her fifth all-time in program history with two regular season games still to play. She needs just five more to bypass Kaysie Stuba (114) and into the top four.

Hansen and the Wildcats close out the regular season this weekend as they head to Brooklyn, N.Y. for a pair of Saturday contests. They start the day at 10 a.m. against Wagner before taking on La Salle at 4 p.m. from the LIU Pool.
