VILLANOVA, Pa.- The Wildcats finally returned to Villanova to take on Hampton for their home opener and were victorious in a 4-0 win.
 
The match began with Villanova taking No. 2 and 3 doubles over Hampton both in 6-2 fashion. The Wildcats claimed the first team point of the match.
 
Freshman Maggie Gehrig defeated Mio Kozaki 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Valieriia Kornieva took on Sofia Sokolova and took the first game 1-0 before Sokolova was retired. Senior captain Caitlin Fisher faced off with Franzene Tsui and also took a victory. The Wildcats claimed four team points to call the match in favor of Villanova.
 
The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday April 4 to take on Temple on the West Campus Courts. Match time is set for 3:00 pm.
