Box Score PHILADELPHIA— Villanova traveled to Penn for their spring season opener. The Cats would fall to Quakers 7-0.
 
Doubles
 
The day began with three hard fought doubles matches where Penn claimed the first point. 
 
In the one spot Ami Grace Dougah and Miriam Gondorova took on Eileen Wang and Esha Velaga.  Dougah and Gondorova would fall in a battle 6-3.
 
The sophomore duo of Maggie Gehrig and Emi Callahan took in the number two spot against Iris Gallo and Saige Roshkoff. They would lose in a back and forth match up 6-4.
 
Valieriia Kornieva and Amanda Rivera-Gonzalez rounded out the third spot for the cats.  They would fall 6-1 to the Penn duo of Liza Tkachenko and Maya Urata. 
 
Singles
 
Dougah took on the one spot against Velaga and came up short in a 6-3, 6-2 defeat. 
 
The two spot was a match up between Gehrig and Penn's Gav Smith. Smith would get the best of Gehrig in this match up (6-1, 6-0).
 
Gondorova was in the third position for the Wildcats and took on Gallo. Both sets going into tiebreakers saw Gallo edge out Gondorova with identical sets scores of 7-6(2).
 
A battle in the fourth positions was between Kornieva and Wang. Wang would pull it out winning both sets 6-3.
 
Freshman Jenna Stevens made her debut in the fifth position taking on Roshkoff. Stevens would fall in her debut 6-1, 6-2.
 
Another debut for the cats occurred in the sixth positions as Lauren Monti took on Urata. Monti was bested by Urata 6-1, 6-1.
