VILLANOVA, Pa.—Villanova looks to continue its historic start this weekend when they travel to Lexington, Va. to participate in the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Invite.
The Wildcats begin the weekend with two Saturday night affairs against Mercyhurst at 3:30 p.m. and Gannon at 6:30 p.m. with Toronto and McKendree awaiting the Wildcats on Saturday morning.
Having already defeated Mercyhurst and Gannon convincingly, the team will come prepared for the respective rematches. Captains

Abigail Shelby played very well against the Lakers and Golden Knights, propelling them to MAAC Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.
Emmie Mallory also was named MAAC Rookie of the Week for her performance last weekend.
Toronto begins their spring campaign this weekend. The Blues wrapped up their fall session with a record of 15-6 and notably took down the 'Cats 11-9 in a November showdown. McKendree also begins their season at the VMI Invite. The Bearcats finished last season with a 17-9 record placing fifth in the Western Water Polo Association. The Wildcats have taken the last two contests against McKendree by one goal in 2022 and 2019.
