LEWISBURG, Pa.—Villanova wrapped up the Bucknell Invite with a loss to MAAC rival La Salle and a win over Bucknell. The Wildcats sit at 11-2 after three weekends of solid play.
In the 9-8 loss to La Salle,
Tiffany Maguire led the way with two goals and two assists.
Stella Byles and
Emmie Mallory each picked up three points with
Gracin Kerry tallying 10 saves in the loss.
The Wildcats kept their composure in game two, defeating Bucknell 10-8.
Anna Painter and
Emily McKenzie each recorded a hat trick with Byles dishing out three assists.
Abigail Shelby got the win in goal recording nine saves.
"As we gain experience and play some close games and the way we've pulled them out has been very beneficial to our player development," said first year head coach
Michael Gordon. "Knowing how to win tight games in the fourth quarter will really help us down the road in the next few tournaments and into conference play."
The Wildcats close out their opening four week stretch at the Princeton Invitational next week where they will face Bucknell again and nationally ranked Harvard.
