‘Cats Travel to Princeton Invitational for Two Contests

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova is set for two tough tests in the Princeton Invitational this weekend. The Wildcats face Bucknell on Friday night and No. 20 Harvard on Saturday. First year head coach Michael Gordon has his team off to an 11-2 start, the best in program history, and looks to build this momentum into the second half of the season.

Having just faced Bucknell last week, the 'Cats will look for another victory but know it will not be easy. The Bison present a 2-8 record but have faced stellar competition having fallen to four ranked teams. Anna Painter and Emily McKenzie each recorded a hat trick in Villanova's 10-8 victory last week and will be looking for more this time around.

Harvard comes into this weekend with a 2-2 record having faced three of the top teams in the MAAC in La Salle, Wagner and Marist. In last season's outing, Villanova fell to the Crimson 23-11 and will be looking for a statement win this season. This weekend's outing will mark the halfway point in the season with two weeks off before the Convergence Tournament in California.
