PRINCETON, N.J. – Villanova began its weekend at the Princeton Invitational with a 14-10 win over Bucknell. The Wildcats improve to 12-2 ahead of tomorrow's ranked matchup against Harvard.
Ella Mattocks shined with five goals to lead the 'Cats.
Emily McKenzie recorded a hat trick with
Anna Painter and
Amelia Baca adding a pair of goals. Four Wildcats chipped in multiple assists. A complete team effort as it has been all season long.
"I think we talked about having energy and enthusiasm for each other and the energy we had outside of the pool directly translated into the pool", said Mattocks, whose five goals is a career high.
Abigail Shelby picked up the win in goal recording six saves.
Stella Byles went 2-2 on sprints and has not lost a sprint in 10 consecutive games.
The Wildcats return to action tomorrow afternoon when they take on No. 19 Harvard. Opening sprint is set for 3:30 p.m.
