Graduate Senior
Ami Grace Dougah and freshman
Miriam Gondorova competed in the one spot against Girish and Mills. Dougah and Gondorova handled the match, winning 6-4.
Jenna Stevens and
Bella Steffen dominated 6-2 in the two spot for Villanova.
Amanda Rivera-Gonzalez and
Chloe Floyd did not finish their doubles match.
Singles
Dougah continues to compete in the one spot. She won in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
Valieriia Kornieva won a third set battle against Girish. After losing the first set 7-5, Kornieva responded with a 6-4 second set win. The third would be won in a tie breaker, 1-0 (5).
Freshman
Maddie Hills fell in the third set to McKinney. Both sets went back and forth, but Hills was not able to pull it out (7-5, 6-4).
In the fourth set it would come down to a third set tiebreaker.
Emma Brogan bounced back after losing the first set with a 6-4 victory in the second. Brogan would drop the third set 1-0 (6).
Senior
Bella Steffen won 6-4 over Landstrom to pick up the final point for a Villanova victory.
Rivera-Gonzalez fell in a third set tiebreaker, 6-7(3), 6-4, 0-1 (4).
Villanova won 5-2 over Loyola Marymount
Doubles
Jenna Stevens and
Bella Steffen won their second doubles match of the day as a duo, winning 6-5 over Richiez over Manwiller.
Amanda Rivera-Gonzalez and
Lauren Monti dropped their doubles match 6-3 against Tankimovich and Tracey.
In the final doubles spot,
Emma Brogan and
Maddie Hills were defeated 6-4 to Assael and Shivkumar.
Singles
Jenna Stevens took on the one spot but fell 6-3, 6-0 to Tracey.
Freshman
Lauren Monti had a phenomenal performance in the two spot for Villanova. She took her match convincingly in two sets 6-2, 6-4 over Richiez.
Valieriia Kornieva picked up her second singles victory of the day. Kornieva competed in another match that would go to a third set. After taking the first set 6-4 and losing rhe second 6-7 (7-3), Kornieva won the third set 6-3 to gain a point for the Wildcats.
Maddie Hills won in the four position for Villanova. Hills defeated Manwiller 7-5, 6-4.
Junior
Emma Brogan came back in her match after losing the first to win it in the third. Brogan dropped the first set 6-4 to Rico. She responded well, winning the next two sets 6-3.
In the final spot,
Bella Steffen picks up another singles victory on the day. Steffen would win the first set 6-2 before losing the second 6-3. The third set would be a back-and-forth affair which saw Steffen come out victorious, 7-5.
