PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—Junior middle distance runners
Emily Robinson (Rogers, Ark.) and
Maya Dorer (New York, N.Y.) tallied top-three finishes in their respective events as a contingent of Villanova athletes were in action at the Penn Challenge on Saturday afternoon. Six track events made up the team's schedule for the day at Franklin Field.
Robinson was the runner-up in the 800 meters with a time of 2:13.00 and first year collegian
Tilly O'Connor (Spring Lake, N.J.) came in fifth in 2:16.32 on a wet and windy afternoon. Dorer crossed the line in the 400 meters in 1:00.50 and was followed by first year runner
Caelen O'Leary (Taunton, Mass.) in fifth place with a time of 1:00.94. Another of the newcomers to this year's Wildcats roster who was in action was
Djoonicka Buissereth (North Babylon, N.Y.) who posted times of 12.82 in the 100 meters and 27.82 in the 200 meters.
Junior
Margaret Carroll (Mount Wolf, Pa.) led a trio of Villanova runners in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:37.91, followed by junior
Alex Stasichin (Massapequa, N.Y.) in 4:50.35 and senior
Kate Flynn (Gray, Tenn.) in 5:23.53. In the 3000 meters, senior
Elizabeth Vaughn (Dayton, Ohio) had a time of 10:08.99 and sophomore
Kinsey Pogue (Danville, Calif.) crossed the finish line in 10:12.94.
