VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Three members of the Villanova softball program picked up 2024 All-Mideast Region honors on Saturday afternoon with
Ally Jones and
Lilly St. Jean being recognized on the second team while
Tess Cites earned a third team laurel.
Jones has now received a pair of All-Region second team accolades, following up her 2021 season honor. Behind the plate, Jones compiled a .992 fielding percentage with 237 putouts and 10 assists while tossing out four runners trying to steal.
The lone VU newcomer to the All-Region teams, St. Jean followed up her unanimous BIG EAST First Team laurel with a second team regional nod. The sophomore middle infielder led Villanova with a .325 batting average, totaling a team-best 15 doubles with 41 hits, 37 runs batted in and 71 total bases.
It's back-to-back All-Mideast Region honors for Cites, who picked up a third team honor this year after a second team accolade as a junior. The New York native led the Wildcats in hits (52) and runs (49) while adding nine home runs, 34 walks and a .452 on base percentage as the Villanova leadoff hitter.
