VILLANOVA, Pa. – Former Wildcats
TJ Comizio and
Connor Kirst have been named to the United States Men's Box Lacrosse roster for the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships. The tournament will take place from Sept. 20-29 in Utica, N.Y. The team appeared in the last World Championship in 2019 where they earned a bronze medal.
Comizio donned the Blue and White from 2016 through 2019, appearing in 60 games and was named a team captain in 2019. He was named USILA All-American Third Team and Inside Lacrosse Media All-American Second Team in his senior season and earned All-BIG EAST Second Team during each of his last two years. Comizio currently plays for the Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) with his brother and Wildcat alum, Chet.
Kirst, who is now a member of the Las Vegas Desert Dogs of the NLL and Boston Cannons of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), previously represented the United States at the 2023 LAXNAI Men's Division Championship and the 2022 World Games. While at Villanova from 2017-2020, he scored 84 goals and handed out 42 assists in 52 games. He earned the 2019 BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year award along with two selections to the All-BIG EAST First Team during his four seasons on the Main Line. Kirst was also recognized nationally with honors to the Inside Lacrosse Media All-American First Team in 2020 and All-American Honorable Mentions by USILA and Inside Lacrosse Media in 2019. He is accompanied on this roster by his brother CJ.
The two last played together when they reunited on the professional circuit with the Georgia Swarm back in 2021-22.
