VILLANOVA, Pa. — The Villanova women's tennis team closed out its fall season this weekend at the Villanova/Delaware Invite, turning in strong performances across both singles and doubles play.
Friday Recap:
The Wildcats opened the weekend with impressive results against Drexel, Georgetown, and Army, earning four wins apiece in singles and doubles. Olivia Corcoran, Maggie Gehrig, Jenna Stevens, Alina Kornyeva, and Miriam Gondorova each notched singles victories for Villanova. In doubles action, Lauren Monti and Corcoran cruised to a 6–1 win, while Emi Callahan and Kornyeva battled for a tight 7–6 victory. Gehrig/Cicero and Seebald/Stevens rounded out the day with two more wins to cap off a dominant Friday showing.
Saturday Recap:
Villanova returned to the courts against Seton Hall, splitting results across the day. The Pirates took five of the singles matches, with Gehrig and Monti securing the two wins for the Wildcats. Doubles play was evenly matched, with each team taking two victories. Callahan/Stevens and Kornyeva/Hills delivered the doubles wins for Villanova.
Sunday Recap:
On the final day of competition, Villanova faced Army once again. Miriam Gondorova picked up the lone singles victory for the Wildcats to close out the tournament.
With the fall schedule now complete, Villanova looks to build on its momentum heading into the 2026 spring campaign.
