Wildcats Take Down The Owls

VILLANOVA, PA -  Villanova women's tennis were able to over come Temple 4-3 on Sunday afternoon.


The Owls traveled to the main line and were able to win in doubles play. Sophia Edwards and Miriam Gondorova were able to put up a fight 6-3 over Temple duo Kawaratani and Christoforidou. Temple was able to pull ahead, winning the last two matches of doubles.

The Wildcats were able to pick up four points in singles. Edwards played No.1 Ozturk and was able to win the first point with a score of 6-0,7-6 (5). 

Temples Ritcher put up a heard fight over Maggie Gehrig 7-5,3-6 before Gehrig was able to secure the win in the third set 7-5. Jenna Stevens defeated No.3 6-2,6-0.

Maddie Hills pulled out the last win for the 'Cats over No.6 Andreoni in a three set match 4-6,7-5,7-5.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday April 5th as they travel to DePaul.
