Three Wildcats Selected to Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Teams

PHILADELPHIA – Villanova Swimming and Diving was well-represented on the 2024-25 Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area lists with Anna Farley, Nick Jubilee and Justin Nowicki all earning selections, as announced on Monday.

Both the men's and women's teams are comprised of 10 student-athletes each. The teams are nominated and voted on by the sports information offices of 30 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area.

This is the 15th consecutive season that Villanova has had at least three Wildcats lauded. In that time, the women's squad has had at least one person awarded each year while the men have had at least one athlete represent in 11 years, seven of those coming in consecutive seasons. All-told, the women now have 47 honorees since the 2005-06 season with 17 on the men's side.

Both Farley and Nowicki earn their first nods from the local offices while Jubilee makes his way onto the team for a second consecutive year. All three are earning their second academic laurels this season as they were each were CSC Academic All-District honorees in early April.

Farley logged five All-BIG EAST swims this season. She was a part of the BIG EAST Champion 800 Free Relay team while picking up silver medals in the 200 Fly and 200 IM and bronze medals with the 400 Medley and 400 Free Relay teams. The sophomore Spanish Language major had 18 top-three finishes this season with seven individual wins and two relay victories. She is second in program history for the 100 Fly (53.65) and 200 Fly (1:58.37) and owns three of the program's 10 fastest times in the 100 Fly.

Nowicki, a sophomore Computer Engineering major, was the BIG EAST Champion in the 400 IM, winning by two-hundredths of a second with a program-best time of 3:49.61. He earned All-BIG EAST status in the 400 IM and 200 Fly and now holds four of the team's top 10 times in the 200 Fly, all in the top six spots of the list. This year he had six wins in 18 top-three performances through the regular season and moved into the program's top performers list for the 200 Fly (second), 100 IM (fourth), 200 IM (third) and 400 IM (first).

Jubilee, a senior nursing major, had four wins with 13 top-three showings throughout the year before winning the BIG EAST title in the 3-meter, the first for the program since 2021. His winning score of 370.85 in the finals secured the gold and became the program record for the event. He went on to perform in the Zone A Diving Championships where he landed 36th in the 3-meter prelims (258.60) and 30th in the 1-meter prelims (257.85).
