LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Villanova women's tennis team returns to the road this weekend for a pair of matches against Bucknell and Navy. The Wildcats will face the Bison on Saturday, February 14, before traveling to Annapolis to take on the Midshipmen on Sunday, February 15.

Villanova enters the weekend riding back-to-back victories over Seton Hall and Lehigh, defeating the Pirates 4-3 and the Mountain Hawks 5-2. Despite dropping the doubles point in both matches, the Wildcats rallied in singles play to secure consecutive wins for the first time this season. Senior Maggie Gehrig highlighted the weekend with an undefeated singles performance, earning a 6-1, 6-4 win against Seton Hall and a 7-5, 6-4 victory at Lehigh.

The win over Seton Hall also marked Villanova's first BIG EAST victory of the season, improving the Wildcats to 3-4 overall.

Bucknell enters the matchup at 4-1 after opening the spring with three straight wins, including a 4-3 season-opening victory over Saint Joseph's followed by wins against Mount St. Mary's and Mercyhurst. The Bison most recently fell to Temple, 7-0, at home and will host Saint Francis the day before Villanova arrives.

Navy holds a 5-3 record through eight matches. The Midshipmen began the season with four consecutive victories before dropping three straight, then rebounded with a win over Mount St. Mary's in their most recent outing. Navy's wins this season have come against St. Bonaventure, Saint Francis, Richmond, Morgan State, and Mount St. Mary's, while losses came against Notre Dame, Ball State, and Liberty.
