Villanova responded with a strong effort in singles play, earning three victories to keep the match close.
Miriam Gondorova led the way with a dominant 6-4, 6-0 win over Yasmin Costa.
Jenna Stevens followed with a straight-sets victory, defeating Tianni Zhou 6-3, 6-4.
Lauren Monti added another point for the Wildcats with an impressive 6-1, 6-2 win against Aditi Vaidya.
Temple secured the remaining courts to clinch the match. Irmak Ozturk earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over
Olivia Corcoran, while Kawaratani Frasser edged
Maggie Gehrig in a tight 7-5, 7-6 contest. The deciding point came at No. 5 singles, where Nina Andreoni outlasted
Alina Kornyeva in a three-set battle, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.
