Two Wildcats Pick Up Weekly Honors After Victory at Marquette

Colin Michener earns Offensive Player of the Week while David Evanchick is named to Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK -- There were two new additions to Villanova's long list of BIG EAST weekly honorees this season as on Monday, Colin Michener was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week and David Evanchick picked up an Honor Roll selection.

The two players are the 10th and 11th Wildcats to earn a conference accolade this year with multiple selections coming in eight different weeks.

Michener earned his first ever OPOW after he scored a career-high seven goals in the crucial victory at Marquette, tying the team's single-game best this season. The senior scored in every quarter in Milwaukee, including two goals in each of the first, second and third periods. It's the eighth time this year that the Plymouth Meeting native has contributed a multi-goal day.

Evanchick picked up his second career honor roll accolade and fourth ever BIG EAST weekly award by totaling three caused turnovers at Marquette in addition to a quartet of ground balls. It was the most caused turnovers this season for the Connecticut product, marking the eighth time he's caused at least one during his senior campaign.

Michener, Evanchick and the Wildcats will wrap up the regular season slate this week, hosting the No. 8/12 Georgetown Hoyas on Friday evening at Villanova Stadium.
