TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association's 2026 academic awards featured a lot of Wildcats as both Villanova programs were named All-Academic Teams and 18 'Cats picked up Scholar-Athlete honors.
Villanova men's tennis earned their fifth straight and seventh overall All-Academic Team accolade, which is given to programs with a GPA above 3.2 for the academic year.
For the fourth straight year, the women's team was also named an All-Academic Team and had a program-high 10 members selected as Scholar-Athletes.
Emi Callahan,
Riley Cicero,
Olivia Corcoran,
Maggie Gehrig,
Miriam Gondorova,
Maddie Hills,
Alina Kornyeva,
Lauren Monti,
Savie Seebald and
Jenna Stevens were all chosen. It was the first career honor for Cicero, Corcoran, Hills, Kornyeva and Monti while Callahan and Seebald earned it all four years as collegians.
On the men's side,
Ryan Benoit and
Ethan Solop earned their first career Scholar-Athlete honor and the quartet of
Kush Anand,
Evan Ancu,
Quincy Jones and
Jack Sherner picked up back-to-back laurels while
Will Monahan and
Thomas Wakefield got their third career accolade.
Both tennis programs now gear up for the 2026-27 seasons with student-athletes set to report in late August.
