NEW YORK – After an undefeated week that saw Villanova outscore its opponents 13-0, three Wildcats earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors. Avrie Nelsen and Meredith Palmer were tabbed Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, while Hannah Dickinson landed a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll.
 
These are the first honors of the year for Nelsen and Palmer while Dickinson has been an Honor Roll selection for a second consecutive week.
 
Nelsen led Villanova this week with eight points across the two wins and accounted for four of the team's 13 goals on the week. The sophomore scored a goal in the 2-0 win at Columbia on Thursday before logging the first hat trick of her career in the 11-0 win over Iona on Sunday. She netted goals in the 2^nd, 17^th and 78^th minutes of that one with the second-minute goal marking the fastest goal of the year for Villanova, needing just 1:43 to give the 'Cats an early lead. This is the Dix Hills, N.Y. native's first Offensive Player of the Week honor.
 
Palmer logged the second Defensive Player of the Week laurel of her career on a two-point outing in the win over Iona and helping the Wildcats log their fourth consecutive clean sheet of the season. The Waxhaw, N.C. native scored the first goal of her career in the win over the Gaels. She was a steady piece of the defense, logging 159 minutes of play to help the Blue and White defense hold its opponents to 13 shot attempts – 12 from Columbia and just one from Iona.
 
Dickinson anchored the Villanova defense through 135 minutes of action this past week, needing just three saves that all came against Columbia. She is now 3-0-1 on the year and earned her second solo shutout of the year over the Lions, bringing her to 16 as a Wildcat. This is the graduate netminder's ninth time on the Weekly Honor Roll.
