Wildcats Fall To Eagles, 69-67

BOSTON (AP) - Troy Bell scored 23 points and Andrew Bryant added 15 on five 3-pointers in the closing 10 minutes as Boston College came back from an 11-point deficit to beat Villanova, 69-67, on Saturday.

Uka Agbai added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles (18-9, 7-7 Big East). Boston College, which is struggling to keep its NCAA tournament hopes alive, won for just the third time in seven games.

Gary Buchanan led the Wildcats (14-11, 5-9) with 23 points. Brooks Sales had 16 points, and Derrick Snowden added 13 and six assists.

Boston College trailed 47-36 with 10:30 left before rallying. Bryant hit three 3-pointers in a 50-second span and Bell nailed a 3-pointer 51 seconds later, tying the game at 50. Another 3-pointer by Bryant put the Eagles in front 55-54 with 5:39 left.

Andrew Sullivan's basket with 4:12 remaining gave the Wildcats a 58-55 lead, but the Eagles scored the next nine points to go up 62-58 with 2:14 remaining. Jermaine Watson hit four free throws and Bryant hit his fifth 3-pointer during the run.

The Eagles increased their lead to 66-59 on Bell's two free throws with 1:17 to play. Villanova scored six of the next seven points, including the a Buchanan free throw that closed it to 67-65 with 22.9 left.

Bell then hit two free throws before Sales had a layup with six-tenths of a second left to finish the scoring.
