Hawks Hold Off Wildcats, 6-1

Philadelphia, Pa. - Freshman Brian Maher (Dallas, Tex.) won his no. 2 singles match, but Villanova (7-13) fell 1-6 to St. Joseph's (11-11) yesterday afternoon.

Maher dispatched A.J. Garabedian 6-2, 6-2, breaking the Hawk player's serve four times in each set.

But St Joe's won the other five singles matches and swept the doubles as well.

Villanova finishes out the regular season this afternoon against UMBC at 2:00 p.m.
