Chester, Pa. - Senior discus thrower Robert McDade qualified for the NCAA Regional Championship after only two meets this season. The Broomall, Pa. native earned his spot to compete at the University of Florida in May with a throw of 53.84 meters (176' 08"). McDade's throw was well inside the NCAA automatic qualification mark of 51.70 meters. McDade also excelled in the hammer throw event posting a 47.19 meter throw, which secured his spot in the Big East Championships.
Villanova's Richard Corcoran also brought home a title from the Danny Curran Invitational this past weekend. The junior from Dublin Ireland opened his outdoor season with a victory in the 1500m run with a blazing time of 3:55.93, which is approximately three seconds faster than the previous meet record of 3:58.80.
