VILLANOVA, Pa. - Head volleyball coach Josh Steinbach has announced the hiring of Jeff Wismer as an assistant coach for the Wildcats. Wismer will begin immediately working with the squad as they begin their preseason workouts and will work primarily with the setters.
"We are looking forward to the experience that Jeff can bring to our team," Steinbach said. "He will be a great asset in working with our setters and brings a positive energy to the squad."
Wismer joins Villanova from Taylor University in Upland, Ind., where he was Director of Volleyball Recruiting and First Assistant Coach. In this position he created and oversaw an offensive scheme which produced an NAIA All-American setter and saw Taylor ranked No. 18 in NAIA. He was responsible for creating a monthly newsletter, a recruit letter and alumni and travel coordination. Wismer was also the Asics Munciana Volleyball Club 17-1's head coach.
Prior, to his coaching stints in Indiana, Wismer was the Director of Volleyball Recruiting and Assistant Coach at Eastern University and has also served in multiple positions in the club volleyball community.
Wismer fills the position of former assistant coach, Kate Woffindin, who has taken a position as an elementary school counselor for the Central Dauphin School District in Harrisburg, Pa.
