VILLANOVA, Pa. - Sophomore outside hitter Morgan Petkovich was named BIG EAST Player of the Week the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Petkovich helped the Wildcats to a perfect 3-0 record and the Maryland Invitational tournament title in the first weekend of play.

Villanova defeated Youngstown State, Stony Brook and Maryland as Petkovich was named tournament MVP. She posted a double-double (12 kills, 12 digs) against the Terps after setting a career-high with 20 kills against Stony Brook. Petkovich is in the top-10 conference leaders in total kills (50) and points (56.5). She averaged 4.17 kills per set in the three games.

The Wildcats are back on the court Tuesday, Sept. 1 as they travel to Long Island. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
