Wheaton, Ill. - Villanova sophomore Steve Skurla (Wheaton, Ill. /Wheaton Warrenville South) has qualified to play in the 110th U.S. Amateur Championship. The prestigious event will be held in Chambers Bay, Wash. during the week of Aug. 23-29th.

Skurla was the low qualifier at the Cantigny Golf Club in Wheaton, Ill., firing a 36 hole total of 140. The U.S. Amateur is the oldest golf competition held in the United States and dates back to 1895.
