Oct. 10, 2015

Recap | Box Score | Quotes | Photo Gallery

  • Despite the loss, Villanova has won six of its last eight home games against William & Mary dating back to 2002. The only other loss came in 2011 (20-16). The Wildcats were prevented from pulling even in the overall all-time series against the Tribe. William & Mary leads the series 17-15-1.
  • Villanova had not allowed as many as 38 points in a game since a 49-35 loss to Towson at home on October 27, 2012. The key to the win for the Tribe was 35 unanswered points scored from the second quarter through early in the fourth period. It was the first time an opponent scored at least 35 unanswered points against the Wildcats since Temple built a 42-0 lead against Villanova on September 1, 2011 in an eventual 42-7 win.
  • Junior running back Javon White scored his first career touchdown on a six-yard run with 7:41 left in the third quarter. White had 10 carries for 48 yards and the touchdown in the game and he leads the Wildcats for the season with 271 rushing yards.
  • Freshman kicker Gerard Smith made his first career field goal attempt, a 26-yarder that came in the closing seconds of the first quarter. It was the first successful field goal attempt of the season for Villanova, which had missed three previous tries from inside 30 yards.
